Endless Performance

The Endless Performance Visioning Conference held in Ottawa, in November of 2006 prepared the way for a dynamic interchange of research, investment and trade opportunities. Many of the guests have provided CLGA with positive feedback on what they saw and heard. Conference Chair, Doug Blair, quoted Ralph Waldo Emerson when he urged the participants to “go where there is no path and leave a trail”. The final destination depends on commitment, leadership and the passion that has been expended. Canada has many strengths and capabilities in dairy cattle breeding not the least of which is the capacity for industry partners from the barn to the boardroom to work together for the good of Canadian livestock breeding.

CANADIAN SHEEP OPTIONS and OPPORTUNITIES

The Canadian sheep industry offers options and opportunities. Excellence is our commitment. Diversity is our passion. And like the land, this diversity provides vast opportunities for both domestic and foreign industry development.

The Canadian Sheep Breeders’ Association is an organization of over 1000 breeders of purebred sheep across Canada, representing over 40 breeds of sheep. The Board of Directors of the Sheep Breeders’ Association is elected by and represents purebred sheep organizations in each province. The Canadian Sheep Federation is a national non-profit organization that represents all Canadian sheep producers. Established in 1990, the primary responsibility of the organization is to set national policy for the sheep industry. Our mission is to work closely and cooperatively with all levels of government and industry related organizations, both domestic and foreign, to further the viability, expansion and prosperity of the Canadian sheep and wool industry.

Canadians and their international clients have access to highly skilled individuals and federally regulated facilities to produce semen and embryos and provide artificial insemination and embryo transfer services to the world sheep industry.
